7 DAY SELF CARE CHALLENGE

Hello, & welcome to the very first Prescrib’d blog!

We will be kicking off with a 7 Day Self-Care Challenge. We all know that self-care is important, that taking good care of ourselves should be a priority. But most of us don’t do it as often, or at all. Including us!

Life can be busy

We understand that life is so busy, which makes it even harder to make our self-care a priority.

But it’s time we do! Because how can we take care of the ones around us if we don’t take care of ourselves first?

If you feel like you need that extra umph like we do right now, then this is for you! We hope this 7 Day Self Care challenge will create habits that last a lifetime.

7 days to a better you..

In this self-care challenge, we will be sharing actionable self-care activities and practices that need only 10-15 minutes of your day (meaning you won’t feel guilty about it). You won’t find any airy-fairy tips, just quick and simple practices to help ramp up your self-care.

So are you ready? Let’s do this!

MONDAY - SET 1 GOAL FOR THE WEEK

Self-care doesn’t have to be physical!

Monday is the perfect time to get organized, prioritize what you want to accomplish and plan what you would like to get done.

Write down 1 goal for the week.. The goal can be as big, small, simple or extravagant as you want it to be!

Your goal could be making sure you make your bed every morning or going to the gym every night.

Whatever goal you set for yourself, we believe in you!

TUESDAY - WRITE DOWN 5 THINGS THAT MAKE YOU HAPPY

As all of us do, we can all get in a funk and struggle to pull ourselves out from them.

Writing down and physically seeing what brings you happiness helps emphasise the feeling.

Pop your pen to paper and write down 5 things that make you happy. It'll be easier than you think!

In the chaotic world we live in it’s easy to forget about the small things in life & this simple activity is the perfect way to remind ourselves of the good stuff.

WEDNESDAY - DRINK ENOUGH WATER

We won’t get too technical with this one as there is no right answer as to how much water YOU need to intake, however we do know what it’s like to have too little water - this is one of our worst personal habits!

We promise ourselves that every single morning this week we start the day with a giant glass of water. Starting the day fully hydrated and energized is setting us up for a good day.

Easy habits can be, leaving a glass of water by your bedside table, a water bottle at your desk or even a sticky note on your fridge if you really need to improve it.

You do, you!

We would love to see your progress! Make sure to send us pictures over on instagram at @weareprescribd

THURSDAY - READ A BOOK

Reading is great because it gives you a short time of escapism to either submerge yourself in an alternate reality or educate yourself with something new. It is a great way to distract yourself on your commute from work or chilling out after putting the kids to bed.

While we are on the topic ;) Alex’s new book ‘Live Well Every Day’ is the perfect book for helping becoming a better version of yourself, so definitely check it out!

FRIDAY - GO TO BED EARLY

Controversial for a Friday but we thought we should test the waters!

This is one of our favourite ways to practise self-care. There’s nothing quite like waking up on a Saturday feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the ENTIRE weekend.

Challenge yourself to go to bed earlier than usual, even if it is only 30 minutes. You won’t believe the positive impacts from simply getting a full night’s sleep, mentally and physically.

Try it yourself and let us know how you get on!

SATURDAY - PICK UP THE PHONE

This may seem like ironic advice. However, we urge you to pick up your phone and give a few of your loved ones a good old fashioned phone call. Perhaps you saw them yesterday, a few weeks, months or years ago. Check in and see how they are.

Hear them out and they’ll hear you out - let your loved ones know you are there for them! A little reminder can certainly go a long way in this day and age.

SUNDAY - HAVE A BATH

There is only one way to end a Self Care Challenge and that is with a BATH!

Run yourself a bath, dim the lights, pop on some relaxing music, grab your new book that you started on Thursday and drop in your favourite bath bomb (preferably a Prescrib’d one ;))

To us, this is the ULTIMATE self care remedy.
